tv madness

a lot has bn happenin in my life in recent times ... i moved to NYC - the dream city .. .tho i am nt exactly in manhattan (which is 'the happening' place) but i am in queens and am quite happy where i live .. i started wrking ful time :D.. it was a superb feeling wen i got to see my first full pay check .. i live in a quite neighborhood as a pg wit an indian family .. my wrk place is nice too ..

life is become a routine tho .. i get up at 7 am every day - now can ya believe that (it was a suprise for al the ppl i knw incl me :D ) .. come bak at 6 and there begins my TV madness ..
Friends @ 6. Everybody Loves Raymond frm 6.30 - 8 wid glimpes of other channel in btwn .. i was following Project Runway (Season 4) & Celebrity Apprentice (Season 7) until the season ended. The details of the show wil follow .. Currently I am following American Idol (Season 7) - a fav of my co-workers who got me addicted to it. ... I love Simon in the show .... he is very 'British' .. if ppl thot new yorkers to be arrogant, u shud see him ..oh ya .. how cud i forget Hells Kitchen .. man tats damn good show by chef ramsay ..

Some of the shows include Step it and Dance, seinfield but i dnt watch them regularly .. Full house is one series where I have watched al the 8 season ... I jus love tat show .. I own Season 4- 8 (courtesy Krish & Saketh) .. Waiting to buy season 1-3 tho i hav already watched them fully :)

I am also looking fwd to the Bill Engraval show and Gossip Girl :D .. Other things I watch on tv wud b the movies in the weekend. TV is like my roomie. It is on 24x7 except for the time I am slping or out of the house. I wil try to elaborate on the shows in my nxt post .. abt y like them :) ... ciao soon

Movie Freak

Recently some one called me a "movie freak" ... this made me wonder am i really one ???

well to b honest for the two or so months (may, jun and july) .. the no of movies i hav watched wud b more or less equal to the no of movies i watched in like 4 yrs of coll... all i did in summer hols is this ... wrk frm 9-5, come back ... take food and start watchin a movie while eating ....weekends i went out and if there is time left, catch up wid a movie ... i hav watched most of the new releases ... also most of the movies i watched were english ... i feel like i had missed lots of good ones ....and it feels like i am catching up wid my past :D

honestly i am reallly addicted to watching some thing ... every day while eating my dinner i need to watch some movie ..even tho skl has started i stil do the same ...esp during the weekends. ..... anyways i think i am living up to this name but at the cost of talkin to my friends.... i am so involved in the movie tat i some times dnt ans the fone or even if i ans ..i wud tel them that i am watching movies and wud cal bak them ltr ...

i dnt knw how long this addiction is gonna last .. i am gonna njoi it while it last :D

Dil Dosti Etc

it is very rare that u like a movie esp scenes from the movie that u keep watching over and again ...and one such movie for me is Dil Dosti Etc by Manish Tiwary ... this blog is abt how it happend to me that i fel in love wid the movie

to start of wid . i dnt generally watch every movie tat releases ..i need reviews and suggestions to watch a movie (except may b SRK movie :D ) ..so recently i was bitten by dis 'shreyas talpade bug'.... i watched his Dor (recommended to me) followed by (b2b) Iqbal which I finished at 6 in the morn :O ...both the movies were AWESOME (u can see various facets of shreyas..and kukunoor yet agn proved himself).. ya i knw ... seems like crazy bt some times i do such stuff ....so then i was googling him and finding out al i cud abt him [the sad part is tat he is married :( ] ... but stil i kept looking to find tidbits abt him and found tat his recent release was tis movie .. widout reading the review, i went on to watch it and trust me .. i didnt regret the decision ... the movie has a simple story line of 2 college boys (one rich and one middle class), 2 gals (one rich coll gal and one skl gal) and a prostitute.. .the story mainly revolves arnd these characters ...i wudnt say the movie is extraordinary with grt screenplay and stuff but ya wud like it and the performances wud touch ur heart ... it has got more coll appeal an d talks abt realistic issues.... the suprise package was Imaad Shah (son of naseeruddin shah) . .trust me i was suprised to find out wen i finished the movie as i felt tha t guy had grt potential ... he played his role wel....and so did shreyas .... there r lots of scenes which r my fav like the time he plays the tabla , the song dum laga , the time wen he is wid nikita wen she is showing of her costume ( i dnt wanna spoil the suprise for ya folks by revealing too much) and cpl of other scenes ...

all the ppl in the movie hav done a good job .. it is one the movies which might nt b a commercial hit but some thing which wud leave a mark in ur mind wid remarkable performances .. .the storyline is good but may nt hav bn executed really wel ... may b i am being blinded wid my obsession of shreyas and praising this movie too much but i still wud recommend u watch it .... anyways its ur cal in the end .. and if u do watch the movie .. do leave me a comment ....

Harry Potter - the 5th movie

wel tho i am nt an avid HP fan .. i stil wanted to see the movie (i prefer the book tho) ..and i was happy wen i got a chance to see it first day (or rather i shud say night as it was 11.59 pm)first show .... my expectations were high but then the movie didnt live upto it ...

i thot daniel radcliffe overplayed his part a bit .... he has lost his innocent looks which had won him fans all over ...hermoine and ron were good and as usual... they were 3 highlights of the movie as for me ...one was sirius ..i dnt knw who played the part but he was handsome and sexy ;) in his own way wid his long locks and secret smiles ..... the 2nd one was the character of Umbridge ..... wel i liked her and also disliked her .... wel she played her part very well being the sweet and nice dame in front of all and the ruthless one behind .... and the way she potrayed her character was really funny ... i didnt think the book made her look funny as did the movie ... the reason i disliked her was bcoz she was an insult to pink color (pink being one of my fav colors) but i think she over does the pink thing or so does the movie seem to potray ...the 3rd one and the most suprising was the role of lovegood (i dnt remeber her name) ... wel she is potrayed as a reallly weird character in the book ...but wel the this girl looked awesome and did justice to her role wid her dreamy eyes and her talks ..... the weasely twins outdid themselves agn

the rest of the characters were mostly the knwn ones ... there werent much nice one liners in the movie as the others .... lots of talking ....and less action except for the last part ( the fight over prophecy) ... i kinda found it hard to imagine the room wid the prophecy and the hal where they fought ... but i think the movie gave me a good pic ....

overall i wud say the movie is a good one - worth watchin once .. on a scale of 5 i wud rate is 3.5..

awaiting the nxt movie and the final book ..... :)

my bday ........

to al tose ppl who were wondering wat i did on my bday .....i knw i am kinda late but i had to do it some time i did the usual stuff .. but definitely had more fun than usual ... like .. tis was the 1st time after a really long time tat i cut cake together wid another friend of mine who shared his bday wid me .... i knew 4 other ppl who had bday wid me ... it was fun saying "same to u" instead of the usual "thank u" :D ...... most of our friends turned fer the cake cutting session and followed by givin me a nice facial wid 2 diff nice yummy cakes followed by drenching me wid hershey's choco syrup.. wel evryone knws how much i love chocos but this was kinda overvboard.... i did look like a mess .. my friends had warned me nt to look at myself in to the mirror and i did tat thankfully or else i wud hav freaked myself.... i came to knw how i looked after i saw the pics... ...wel thx to my frenz .. they got me a realllllly huge cake ... we stayed up til like 3 and played cards and it was fun ...

then the usual stuff of gng to skl and wrk.. came bak a happy me ... one of my friends had gifted me "full house" seasons and i thot wat is better day other than my bday to start watching them ..... i actullay i had already started the previous night (cudnt resist them)..... my friends dropped by and we decided we needed another celebration as some of them cudnt come the previous night ... so we got a new cake ...and my friends came ovr and we had the fun ... .eating ... TABBOO... tats our fav past time wen we meet ....

over all my bday was fun..one thing i missed the most is my mom;s pal payasam :( ...... every yr she makes them fo i love tat (wel evryone in my family doeS) ... also i missed being wid them ..its ages since i celebrated my bday wid them... miss u mom, dad, and sou (hugs hugs hugs)

the other thing i missed was ...- my friends frm my coll... i remember how much we had givin each other trts and hoggin in some hotel in chn .... the cake cutting... the bday bumps (not me )... jokin .. laughin...pulling each others legs.. making fun of anything and evrything ..... and the
fun which we hav gen wid our friends

reading news!!!!

the feelin of not havin any more xams to ryte -- makes u shout wid joy and do a double somersault .. but then a bigger terror called the assignments come in 2 d pic .... grad life is filled wid "papers dues" and "grp projects" which tho is good in loads of ways like - u gettin more knowledge, learn abt stuff outside the classroom" but it makes u wrk ur butt off in readin those huge no of papers and then compilin them wid no plagiarism ..... oh man .. some times i hate it ... but then... come to think of them ... i hav learnt a lot more frm assigments and prjcts dan exams..... most of assignments are based on current news in the field of apparel, retailing etc ( well i am doing my MS in that only) ... i hav got the new and can say a good habit of reading news (but those r gen related to my field) ... back home in India i used to read papers but nt after cuming to the 'land of opportunities' .... most of my profs insist in every class that we tel them " wat in news since v last met" .. couple of classes we used to keep quite .. our facs point blank and feel low... and in the end the prof himself telling us ... but after a certain time .. i felt tat i shud start readin and thus began my daily readin of 'wwd' which is leading paper fer apparel and retailing .. and i found out that it was nice to knw wat is happenin in the wrld outside my small life .....and thus i wud recommend it to all... cuming bak to assignments .. lemme start doing mine nw ..... hav 3 due tis week...and hav loads of reading to do .... .ciao then :)
